Complete GA4 on checkout flow

This guide walks through GA4 tracking on checkout end to end. Read GA4 on checkout first.

Part 1 — GA4 property setup

  1. Confirm you are in the correct business workspace.

  1. Create or open GA4 property in Google Analytics.

  1. Copy Measurement ID (G-XXXXXXXX).

  1. Open AtomicPay Integrations → GA4 settings (or plan GTM tag).

  1. Enter Measurement ID and save.

Part 2 — Checkout and debug

  1. Publish checkout for target offer.

  1. Enable GA4 DebugView (debug mode via GTM or browser extension).

  1. Open live checkout URL in debug session.

  1. Fire view_item or page_view on checkout load if configured.

  1. Proceed through checkout steps — begin_checkout, add_payment_info if mapped.

Part 3 — Purchase verification

  1. Complete test purchase (approved sale).

  1. Confirm purchase event in DebugView with value and currency.

  1. Wait 24–48h and check GA4 Realtime for production traffic.

  1. Compare GA4 purchases to Sales for same day — expect timing differences.

  1. Fix campaign attribution gaps separately from GA4.
