Set up a mentorship product

Mentorship products cover 1:1 or group guidance, calls, and guided programs. Buyers usually need clear next steps after payment rather than automatic course access in a members area.

Use this guide when you sell coaching, mentoring, implementation support, or a cohort program where onboarding happens outside a traditional course library.

Best practices

  • Use specific link labels (Book your kickoff call, not Link 1).
  • Align sales page, checkout, and delivery links so promises match.
  • Test the full path as a buyer, not only from the seller dashboard.
  • If mentorship includes community access, consider community product setup or add a community link in delivery.

Common mistakes

  • Selecting Mentorship but configuring course members area delivery.
  • Promising instant call booking without a working scheduling link.
  • Using vague checkout copy that does not explain what the buyer receives.
  • Launching before product approval or checkout publish is complete.

FAQ

Should mentorship use link delivery or no members area?

Use link delivery when buyers should self-serve into scheduling or onboarding URLs. Use no members area when your team contacts buyers manually after an approved sale.

Can mentorship be a subscription?

Yes, when access or calls continue over time. Define what happens on cancel or overdue. See subscription overdue and retry.

What if the buyer cannot find onboarding links?

Start with troubleshoot buyer access after purchase and verify sale status and configured delivery links.
