Set up a mentorship product
Mentorship products cover 1:1 or group guidance, calls, and guided programs. Buyers usually need clear next steps after payment rather than automatic course access in a members area.
Use this guide when you sell coaching, mentoring, implementation support, or a cohort program where onboarding happens outside a traditional course library.
When a mentorship product fits
| Use a mentorship product when | Use another product type when |
|---|---|
| The buyer receives calls, guidance, or a guided program | Delivery is a lesson library in a members area. See course product setup. |
| Onboarding is scheduling, forms, or access links | The buyer only receives a PDF. See ebook delivery. |
| The offer is personal or cohort-based | The product is ongoing community membership. See community product setup. |

Delivery options for mentorship
| Option | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Link delivery | Buyers open Calendly, forms, Zoom, or onboarding pages after payment |
| No members area | Your team fulfills manually or through external tools not integrated yet |
| External members area | Rare; only when mentorship content also lives in a members platform |
What to verify before launch
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Checkout explains post-payment steps clearly | Mentorship buyers expect immediate clarity |
| Scheduling or onboarding links work on mobile | Many buyers book calls from phones |
| Support knows the fulfillment SLA | Reduces disputes when buyers expect instant contact |
| Refund policy matches a high-touch offer | See refunds |
Best practices
- Use specific link labels (
Book your kickoff call, notLink 1). - Align sales page, checkout, and delivery links so promises match.
- Test the full path as a buyer, not only from the seller dashboard.
- If mentorship includes community access, consider community product setup or add a community link in delivery.
Common mistakes
- Selecting Mentorship but configuring course members area delivery.
- Promising instant call booking without a working scheduling link.
- Using vague checkout copy that does not explain what the buyer receives.
- Launching before product approval or checkout publish is complete.

Can mentorship be a subscription?
Yes, when access or calls continue over time. Define what happens on cancel or overdue. See subscription overdue and retry.
What if the buyer cannot find onboarding links?
Start with troubleshoot buyer access after purchase and verify sale status and configured delivery links.
